Here's Lookin' at You
2018 SPRING PADUCAH
OLFA VIEWERS' CHOICE AWARD
Born and raised in the beautiful city of San Diego, sewing and creating were always a large part of my childhood. Later, sports and horses dominated my time but the love of color, texture, and fabric were always there. I began quilting in the early 80's and soon found my passion in creating art quilts. I remember thinking how lucky it would be to be able to teach quilt making and soon found myself in that very place; teaching, motivating, and inspiring people to quilt. I love the idea of unlocking that door in people's minds - freeing them to see things in a new way, and allowing them to play and create.
I added long arm quilting to my life 16 years ago only to find myself coming full circle back to exploring new ideas and creating new works of art. One thing has remained constant through all these years... My studio remains a place where I can immerse myself into a creative, peaceful place where daydreaming and playing are always allowed.
